The Canine Parvo Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of canine Parvo virus antigen (CPV Ag) in dog’s feces or vomit specimen.

Introduction

Canine Parvo virus is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs and thought to originate in cats. It is believed that the feline panleukopenia mutated into CPV2. Parvo is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. A mortality of as high as 91% was found in untreated cases. There are some regular diagnostic methods through detection of Parvo virus in dog’s feces. Immunoassay, hemagglutination test, PCR and electron microscopy are applied in practice. Clinically, the intestinal form of infection can sometimes be confused with Coronavirus, Rotavirus or other forms of enteritis.
